Our oceans are vital to life on earth. The oceans produce 70% of the world’s oxygen and absorbs 50 times more carbon than our atmosphere. Additionally, the oceans help regulate the earth’s climate, provide food for billions of people, provide millions of jobs, and are home to 50-80% of all life. Despite its importance, the ocean faces more threats than ever, such as run-off pollution, air pollution, oil spills, oxygen depletion, climate change, and overfishing. Most people are completely unaware of the numerous threats to our ocean. Our goal with OceanMaster is to spread awareness about the various environmental issues that are taking place in our society. We hope that this platform can be used to tell people to take initiative on protecting our beautiful oceans.
